Forklift Driver
Help keep our warehouse running smoothly – we are looking for Team Leader to be at the heart of our operations!
Dogs, cats, budgies and everything in between - pets deserve the world. They make us want to be better humans. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to build the most engaged and passionate community of pets and pet parents across the world. And we’re looking for talented team mates who can help us do it.
Founded in Sydney, our team of 500+ pet obsessives span Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines. We’ve scaled to become one of Australia's top five eComm companies and the no.1 online pet store. But we’re just getting started. Like a whippet who’s spotted their mate across the dog park, our growth is only going to accelerate, as we continue to disrupt the way that pet parents shop.
Excitingly, the pet industry is booming (as in $15 billion kind of booming) and online pet retail is set to grow exponentially in the next five years. So this is a unique career opportunity to be part of our epic growth story.
The opportunity
Our PM Team Leader plays a hands-on leadership role, guiding the Outbound Operations team day-to-day to keep pace with customer demand and the growth of the business. You will lead from the front, working alongside your team and setting the standard through your own actions, ensuring every task is performed to the highest standard.
As Team Leader, you’ll be the first point of contact for your team – coaching, mentoring and developing individuals so they can operate efficiently, safely and to target. You’ll build strong relationships with your people, understand their strengths and development areas, and champion a psychologically safe environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing and implementing ideas for continuous improvement. Compliance with WHS policies and keeping our people safe remains our highest priority.
What you’ll be doing
Champion a Safety-First Culture: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate workplace incidents and hazards to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
Ensure WHS & Policy Adherence: Guarantee all staff are inducted and consistently comply with WHS, company policies, and relevant legislative requirements including COR
Maintain a Clean Work Environment: Ensure all warehouse areas (both inbound and outbound) are clean, organized, and free from debris and hazards.
Manage Material Handling Equipment (MHE): Log all MHE issues with vendors and ensure timely repairs to minimise downtime across both functions.
Streamline Daily Procedures: Oversee the accurate and efficient processing of start-of-day and end-of-day operations, ensuring staff adhere to all procedures.
Ensure Timely & Accurate Reporting: Provide regular, precise reports on operational performance for both inbound and outbound activities.
Monitor Quality Assurance: Work in conjunction with the QA team to ensure quality standards are met across all warehouse functions.
Optimize Efficiency: Identify areas of inefficiency and propose potential service improvements to enhance overall operations.
Team Leadership & Development: Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff, promoting effectiveness and a positive work environment.
Support Performance Management: Manage the team performance against their respective KPIs.
Facilitate Team Toolbox Talks: Conduct regular toolbox talks
Outbound Operations
Oversee Outbound Flow: Lead and manage the picking, packing, dispatch, and staging teams to ensure optimal efficiency and timely dispatch.
Drive KPI Achievement: Motivate and guide your outbound team to consistently meet and exceed daily Key Performance Indicators.
Optimize Service & Customer Experience: Ensure every aspect of the outbound function achieves service targets. Deliver exceptional customer experience by maintaining a strict focus on fulfilling Next Day Delivery (NDD) orders to 100% satisfaction.
Manage Courier Logistics: Ensure all outbound freight is processed efficiently and shipped effectively to our partnered couriers.
Ensure Safe Vehicle Loading: Guarantee that the AP (Australia Post) truck is loaded safely and strictly adheres to all Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
Proactive Issue Resolution: Raise and address any issues with equipment, staffing, or stock with the Operations Manager immediately so as not to affect customer service levels.
Maintain Facility Standards: Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and free from hazards at all times.
Complete Operational Handovers: Ensure all end-of-day handover reports for outbound operations are thoroughly and accurately completed for a seamless shift transition.
Inbound Operations
Collaborate on Inbound Priorities: Work closely with the Day Shift Supervisor to strategically prioritise inbound workloads, ensuring a seamless flow of goods that maximises customer satisfaction.
Support Fulfilment Readiness: Provide an exceptional customer experience by ensuring incoming goods are processed, checked, and put away rapidly to prevent stock-outs and support the outbound fulfilment teams.
Promote Safety & Quality Standards: Effectively promote safety and proactiveness across the team, specifically focusing on pallet wrapping quality, strict racking standards, and safe forklift/MHE use.
Manage Inbound Workloads: Effectively control and distribute the daily workload of the Inbound Team to ensure a strong finish to the day, prioritizing the fulfillment of all Next Day Delivery (NDD) and other high-priority orders according to business needs.

About Pet Circle
Our story, like many good ones, starts with a human and their dog. Our founder, Mike noticed his Dad struggling to lug heavy bags of dog food home from the pet store. And so, in 2011, Pet Circle was born in Sydney with a simple mission: to make caring for pets as easy as possible.
And we've come a long way. Today, we're the #1 player in the Aussie online pet industry and one of Australia's top 5 eCommerce businesses.
